FAQ
Window cleaning
Do you clean more than just the panes?
Yes, we clean the frames and sills and this is included in our standard window cleaning job. We also can clean tracks if this is requested for an additional low fee.
Can you get hard water off?
Yes! But if hard water has been accumulating for several years, removal can be extremely difficult with chemicals. We can still remove it, but this now turns into glass restoration which is a bigger process.
How often should I get my windows cleaned?
Depends on your budget and what you prefer. Commercial is usually monthly and sometimes bi-weekly. Residential is once or twice a year. But we are willing to set up a schedule that works best for you.
What if it rains right after?
Rain water is very pure and will not leave marks on the glass. It only does when glass and frames are dirty creating mud. When they are clean this should not happen.
Do you clean interior windows too? Can you clean screens?
Yes we offer both of those services.
Gutter cleaning and repairs
How do you clean the gutters?
We use gutter scooping tools to fully take out debris and place it in buckets to dispose. We use our ladders with stand-offs so the ladder isn't resting directly on the gutter. If we work on the roof we also offer to install a permanent roofing anchor for us to work safely and be tied off with fall arrest equipment.
How often do they need to be cleaned?
Usually once a year. Completely depends on the area where you live. Areas with lots of trees most likely should be done once or twice a year. Areas with little or no trees can possibly get away with every few years.
What other maintenance do you do with gutters?
We also fix any leaks with a professional silicone sealant. We make sure filters are in place on downspouts if you have them. We straighten and adjust the slope if water doesn't drain towards downspouts.
Should I get gutter guards installed?
We do offer to install them for you but we usually do not recommend them as they can cause many other problems. It can often cost thousands of dollars to have them installed. This will reduce how often they need to be cleaned but they still need to be cleaned and when they do it usually costs double or triple the amount as the guards have to be removed, cleaned and reinstalled. Even with not having to clean underneath them they still need to be cleaned on top of the guards at least once a year to make sure water goes through the little holes. If covered by debris, water will flow right past debris and over the gutter or go back towards the house under the shingles and cause roof and fascia rot causing more damage. This of course also defeats the purpose of having gutters as now water is running down the side of the house also causing foundation issues. If you do choose to have them installed be sure to only get high quality guards that are screwed in and also have the roof and surface of guards blown off at least once a year to maintain them and avoid an expensive gutter cleaning.
Dryer Vent Cleaning
How often should I get my vent cleaned?
We recommend once a year.
How do you clean them?
We either use a special brush, rod and drill system or high powered air tools to clean out the vent from the outside at the termination point. Both are specific professional tools only designed for dryer vent cleaning. We also either go inside and check behind the dryer to make sure it's clean all the way through or use our specialized camera system that can inspect from the outside all the way to the back of the dryer.
What if there is little to no air flow at the termination point outside when the dryer is on?
This usually means the vent is either fully clogged or the vent is disconnected somewhere. This can be extremely dangerous for two reasons. It can be a serious fire hazard with lint building up inside the dryer and two, the exhaust of the dryer can be releasing inside the home filling the home with carbon monoxide gas. Hire a professional to clean and inspect full vent to make sure it is safe.
Do you offer any additional dryer vent services?
Yes we do.
1) We can replace the transition hose at the back of the dryer that is usually a flexible duct that connects from the dryer to the metal duct in the wall. Often these can be crushed or torn and need to be replaced and sealed properly.
2) We also can replace exterior vents that allow for good air flow but keep birds and other critters from getting in.
3) We can inspect vents for disconnects with our special camera system and have it repaired if we can gain access.
4) We clean the dryer lint trap. There can be a build up of lint in the trap that is more involved then just cleaning the screen.
